Introduction

February 21, 2010 By lisa

I have loved movies for my entire life. I love all kinds of movies: action/adventure, romantic comedy, horror/scary, dramas of all kinds – they’re my escape from the ruts in which we can so easily find ourselves. I used to want to be a movie star when I was a kid (okay, who am I kidding? I still do), and I’m probably the only person I know who doesn’t mind going to the movies alone. Sure, it’s a little awkward buying that “ticket for one” but once I’m there, nothing else matters. I love getting swept away by a good story, and I hate stories that are so transparent that I can see how it will end five minutes after it’s begun. I sometimes like to imagine I’m a producer screening my latest project before it’s released to the teeming masses. And sometimes I just like to disappear into the darkness and be somewhere else for a couple of hours.

I’ve tried to find a good place to share my thoughts on movies, which usually just meant throwing in a random opinion/review amid the other stream of consciousness that comes out of my brain on a daily basis. But I have finally decided that the time has come to give a separate voice to my love of movies. I wouldn’t necessarily call this a “critique” site, although some of my thoughts on various films are less than favorable. They’re just my thoughts about some of the many movies I’ve seen; some are recent, some will be reposts from other blogs I’ve had. And I watch movies in a terribly random fashion. You may read something about a movie that came out fifteen years ago, and yes, I’ve only just gotten around to watching it. That’s what happens when you have a movie queue a mile long.

So if you love movies, I hope you’ll like this blog! Feel free to respond to my posts/reviews whether you agree or disagree, and I’m always looking for great recommendations too!

Do you Netflix? We could be Netflix friends. Steve and I watch multiple movies each month – sometimes one a night for several nights in a row. We have similarly catholic tastes; any & everything! Our Netflix queue stays around 100 movies.

Nice to know we share this passion!

Yes I do; you got us our free membership in fact! Is there a way to share queues? I hadn’t tried that yet!
