The Story Continues

October 20, 2015 By lisa

https://youtu.be/sGbxmsDFVnE I deliberately waited until today to post about the newest Star Wars trailer, mostly because I figured I was just getting caught up in the tidal wave of nostalgia that everyone else is flailing in. (Well, that, and it's kind of fun to watch my husband completely fanboy over this!) So I watched it again today, and you know what? It's even BETTER the next day. Kind of like Thanksgiving leftovers. Why is this trailer so great? Let me count the reasons: 1) I will … [Read more...] about The Story Continues

What Do You Want From Iron Man?

May 13, 2013 By lisa

For the last week or so, I've been meaning to get over here and give my two cents regarding Iron Man 3. But at midnight on opening night of Iron Man 3, my husband and I -- along with a fair number of friends we ran into -- christened our brand-spanking-new IMAX theater with this movie, and it was nothing short of a blast! This … [Read more...] about What Do You Want From Iron Man?

As was the case with most of my friends, I had no recollection of seeing Men In Black II. It took reading a plot synopsis online to jog my memory enough to recall that since I knew what happened during that movie, I obviously DID see it. Sadly, that's all I remember about it. Therefore, I went into MIB III with the expectation that … [Read more...] about Men In Black III

Cars 2 and the Future of Movie Reviews

June 25, 2011 By lisa

Over the past week, I have read two absolutely scathing reviews of Cars 2: one of which claimed the movie was setting Mater up as a terrible role model for children, and another which went so far as to say that Pixar was now in a free-fall due to the "critical failure" of this movie. Seriously? I just saw Cars 2 with my family, and we unanimously enjoyed it. Obviously a continuing story doesn't have the same kind of feel as when you meet new characters for the first time. The bloom is a bit … [Read more...] about Cars 2 and the Future of Movie Reviews
